Our Mission Statement:

“A Church with the intent purpose of winning and leading souls to Christ by ministering to the heart, body, mind, and soul through worship, leadership, followship, and fellowship, where our relationship with God is more than a promise; it’s a Commitment.”

Our Church Focus:

“A Good Church Getting Better, Striving to do Our Best."

"That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish”

- Ephesians 5:27

The mission statement of Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church is given to us in Matthew chapter 28:18-20. We recognize Jesus as the power source in heaven and in earth. Therefore we go with the authority of Jesus to Preach, Teach, and Baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, believing he is always with us. We further realize that our relationship with God is more than a statement, it is a commitment.
“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.   AMEN”
Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
“Go ye into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be damned...”
Mark 16:15-16
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD.”
Luke 4:18-19
The above scriptures explain the mission of the church, which is the body of Christ, the bride of Christ, the fellowship of baptized believers in Christ, and the community gathered by the Spirit of Christ. We, who constitute the Church, are called upon to do more than “greet, meet and eat.” We are witnesses to the reality that the Spirit of the risen Lord can make a real change in the life of everyone and bring about substantive changes in society.
The “MISSION OF THE CHURCH,” which is the aim for all churches, must be interpreted anew by every generation considering current conditions.
